The goal of the class is to develop a constant flow of movement, use body weight in a variety of ways, and use gravity and momentum to drive our movements. In the end, the aim is to achieve a permeable, energetic and dynamic quality of movement. Each session culminates in various choreographies in which the experiences gained during the training are put to a complex application in space.

Jose Agudo (ES)

Catch this extraordinary chance to explore Kathak vocabulary, rhythms applied to a contemporary context.

As a rehearsal director and assistant choreographer Jose has worked on several creations for Akram Khan Company from 2010 to 2017. Including the Olympics 2012 Opening Ceremony.
In 2010, Jose started to study Kathak under Akram’s guidance. Finding many parallels between this training and his early studies of Flamenco, Jose reconnected with his roots and began to explore traditional forms in a contemporary context. As a result, he created Agudo Dance Company in 2017. Creating Silk Road, which has toured in 6 countries to date, Carmen that tour in UK and France and Hero that it’s touring world wise.

Price: 450,- dkkr. for the three day workshop.

Toby Fitzgibbons (UK)

Toby has since 2015 been part of the British company balletLorent. He is former dancer at Scottish Dance Company and Norrdans and has performed works by Ohad Naharin and Thomas Noone amongst others. Toby has been part of the CIDF workshops programme before, and we are thrilled to have him back to share all his loving passion and personality with us in the studio. 

Price: 450,- dkkr.
Fee is for three day workshop.

Milán Újvári (HU)

Flying Low focuses on the relationship between the dancer and the floor, using spirals, momentum, and rapid weight shifts to transition fluidly between levels. The technique emphasizes efficiency of movement, allowing dancers to move in and out of the ground with speed and ease. It also incorporates group dynamics, encouraging dancers to stay connected to the space and others through shared energy and awareness.
